The 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union & its allies over Nazi Germany in World War II is approaching and President Putin has declared a 3-day ceasefire starting on May 8 through May 10.
Remember, there is a war going on right now between Ukraine and Russia.
President Zelenskiy has said that Ukraine could not guarantee the safety of any foreign dignitaries attending Moscow’s May 9th parade.
Former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev responded with a Telegram post on Saturday May 3, and he said that no one was asking for Zelensky’s guarantees, but if attacks were to be realized, then “nobody will guarantee the dawn of May 10 in Kyiv.”
A very poetic re-threat I would say.
Another report by Newsweek indicated that Zelenskyy (though no names, evidence, or details were offered by Zelenzkyy) had said that ‘Russia was worried about what might happen during the event’, and also said that ‘a warning by the European Union urging its leaders not to attend.’
The dynamics of a war, constant threats, and a parade, happening all at the same time is fascinating to me, and it is also concerning to me that the U.S.A. has recently signed the ‘Trump Minerals Deal’ on Friday May 02, 2025.
It makes me question, that if this ‘Trump Minerals Deal’ with Ukraine ever begins, will our American Mining Companies and American Workers be safe?
When it comes to mining minerals anywhere in the world, it is not a weekend project, and Ukraine does not have any of the technology or equipment or resources for mining and digging their own minerals, which means that American companies would have to ship their own equipment into Ukraine.
Worse still, there are not any credible reports ,or any recent data, that shows or reveals to American companies just how much in minerals can be extracted from the earth in Ukraine.
In short, by President Trump signing this type of minerals deal, is like Trump buying a car from Tesla without looking under the hood. (There is no engine, I know.)
The Newsweek article also went on to say that Russian state media had reported that U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, would also be attending the event, but the U.S. State Department said that there were no plans in place for the Secretary to fly to Russia.
Leaders from other countries will be attending the Russian event, but one leader in particular is of interest to me.
China’s President Xi Jinping will also be attending the Russian event, and what concerns me is this: will President Putin take this opportunity to take President Xi aside, privately, and attempt to strike their own trade/war deal, just as President Trump did, when he held a private meeting (in public view) with President Zelenskyy, when visiting Rome.
President Trump is not the only ‘deal-maker’, whether Trump is a great deal maker, a mediocre deal maker, or a poor deal maker is still unknown, but deals can be made by many other countries that can have a disastrous affect on Trump’s trade war.
So far, there have been no countries reported to have solidified any trade deals on paper, though President Trump and his cabinet have said repeatedly that many countries are racing to the White House to make a trade deal to minimize the tariff threat, and that thousands of companies are ready to return to America and build new factories in the United States, and President Trump has proclaimed that countries are calling and dying to make a deal, and also, that many countries are ‘kissing my axx’. Time will tell, but so far, it don’t look to good.
