Removing Vivian Schiller of her responsibilities and of her position of power as President and CEO of NPR is clearly the course of action that must be taken by any responsible organization.
Vivian Schiller has vividly displayed her lack of rational thought by terminating the contract with Juan Williams for his comments that he has stated to be his true personal feelings.
Vivian Schiller, after terminating Juan Williams, then makes a disparaging comment referencing that Juan Williams ‘should have kept his feelings about Muslims between himself and “his psychiatrist or his publicist.”
Does Vivian Schiller believe Juan Williams is mentally unstable?
Now, after the dung has hit the fan, she comes out and makes an apology that in my opinion is more to cover her crack and save her position of prestige rather than to make amends.
At best, Vivian Schiller should come clean and admit to the world that NPR is simply a left wing support group and let the people take a position if they will continue to support the NPR agenda.
If the news reports and blogs are any indication, donations and contributions should be stifled.
This is an issue of Free Speech and if NPR wishes to campaign to shut the voice of anyone, it should be the voice of Vivian Schiller.
However, as an American, I choose to support and allow Vivian Schiller to speak her mind freely and let the American people decide whether NPR survives or dies by voting with their support and their dollars.
Shameful NPR, absolutely shameful.
